Cooking with baby rice cereal? - gerber baby rice cereal
I have almost a whole box of Gerber rice cereal for babies, but my niece 14 months and no longer eats. I suppose you would if you fed them, but I wonder whether you can use to cook the other as it might have a thickener for sauces and soups or muffins or something else?

I am a big pot of oatmeal for my family almost every morning in the winter. It's cheap, and I throw in equipment to make it creamier and more - even the cream of rice (cereal and baby), semolina, wheat germ, flax seeds, etc.
You can also get rid of baked goods for some time to get everything. Just add a little flour to the mixture if you do things that are as Wheaty (No white cake. Think more like banana bread, pancakes, wheat, etc.) If the recipe calls for one cup of flour, add a few spoonfuls cereals to the bottom of the cup, then add the flour to make a full cup.
I would use it in savory dishes as a sauce or a sauce, as a thickener. The texture is not the same.
I think we can add them to muffins, but I remember my children (30 and 26) was very sweet. Do not think it would work to thicken a sauce or gravy, unless you want the sweetness.
